ADHD AND ANTS_Do you suffer from automatic negative thoughts?
Thoughts are real. They have a real impact on your behaviour.
Many people with ADD/ADHD suffer from ANTS-automatic negative thoughts. Their brains are wired to focus more on the negative than on the positive.
How you think moment by moment has a huge impact on how youfeel and how you behave. Negative thoughts are often the cause of your negative behaviours and your problems in low self-esteem. Hopeful thoughts influence positive behaviours and cause you to feel good about yourself. This then fuels more positive change in yourself.
Do you know that when you just think a negative thought without challenging it your body believe it to be true, and your body reacts to it.
Automatic negative thoughts can ruin your day/week and even your life.
You will typically think over 70,000 thoughts a day.
Your brain reacts to every single thought that you think.
You think an angry/depressed thought.
Your brain releases chemicals and you become aware of your thinking.
Every time you think a negative thought, you experience that feeling in your body. You will get tense, heart rate will beat faster, hands will start to sweat, you may feel dizzy and overwhelmed.
Every time you think a positive thought or recall a positive memory your brain releases chemicals to make you feel good. Your muscles will relax, heart beats slower, and you breathe slower.
Unless you think about your thoughts they are automatic or they just happen. They don’t always serve you well.
You can train yourself to think more positive thoughts and less negative thoughts. It is up to you and only you to change them.
How do you do this?
When you think of a negative thought, become aware of it, and talk back to it. By talking back to your negative thoughts you can take away their power over you.
Little by little you can change your thought patterns. I know, because I have been there.
YOU AND ONLY YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND START TO LIVE THE LIFE YOU PERHAPS HAVE NOT EVEN DARED TO DREAM OF.
